SAEFA Skill-Share Session Recap: Before the Vote – Two Elections. One Business Landscape.
Understanding the political shifts shaping South Africa’s business environment
SAEFA’s August Skill-Share Session featured Ofentse Donald Davhie from the Centre for Risk Analysis (CRA) for a timely Strategic Intelligence Briefing ahead of key elections in South Africa and the United States.
The session explored South Africa’s changing local political landscape, including voter priorities, shifting support across key municipalities and the growing significance of coalition politics. It also looked at the balance of power in the US Congress and some of the closely contested Senate races that could influence the political direction of the United States.
Importantly for South African employers, the discussion connected these political developments to the broader business environment, including the evolving relationship between South Africa and the United States and legislative developments that could have implications for bilateral relations and trade.
